The beginning..

What is a blog, exactly? Although there is no clear-cut definition for it, everybody has their own individual meaning for it. For some people, it's a way to express their feelings without feeling judged. For others, it's a way to get their opinion out there and heard.

A blog is a journal for today's people. A modern version of the pen and paper. In todays's age of technology, everything that was once put on paper, is being transferred to computers. Journaling is no exception.

My favorite part of blogging is just the simple fact of getting your feelings out. I enjoy writing my feelings down on paper so I'm expecting to like this version even more. Getting my feelings out helps me face life rather than stand by and let it live on without me.

The most challenging aspect about blogging is the privacy issue. While blogging, there is absolutely no privacy. Although I say it's my most challenging thing, I still don't find it to be a huge challenge. It may work to my advantage, actually. This can be a positive thing if looked at from one direction but also a negative thing if looked at from another perspective.

  3. A great first start! I really enjoyed your comparison between past and present paradigms of journalism - and even writing in general. Technology has made a huge difference in how we access and create information. What do you mean about the privacy issue? Personal diary vs. online journal? If you don’t want anyone to access your personal thoughts or opinions on a certain topic, than it may not be suited for a blog. Just wondering……

  4. I agree with you on the privacy thing- it's a scary world out there. However, we can keep ourselves safe just by knowing that! Great blog.

  5. I love getting my feelings out too. It just kind of feels like a relief, or even a weight being lifted off my shoulders

  6. Good start! I agree, the privacy thing is a concern for me as well. While I don't mind having people know what I am thinking, if it gets into the wrong hands...not so good. Hoping you like blogging since you enjoy getting your thoughts out.
